Description: This unit outlines the stages of the sales cycle and the activities required of the salesperson at each stage. The skills necessary at each stage are emphasised. On pre-sales, the student will be taken through techniques for ‘connecting’ with the customer and then identifying buying criteria and securing customer agreement on needs and priorities. On the actual sales stage, students will develop their ability to present a sales proposal, and achieve competency in handling objections, negotiating and closing the sale. Post sales activities of order processing, self analysis, customer follow-up and identification of repeat selling opportunities are also examined.
